Want to Remove Sunscreen the Right Way? You Need This.

Are you just using soap and water to take off your sunscreen at the end of each day? You're doing it wrong! If you want to get your skin truly clean—and remove sunscreen the right way—you're going to want to read this! Fact is, if you’re not already using a cleansing brush to cleanse your skin, this summer is the time to start. Here’s why:

If there’s one thing we truly believe in at Skincare.com, it’s the unbelievable importance of wearing sunscreen with broad-spectrum SPF year-round. Now that summer is officially here, daily sunscreen use is more important than ever before—and not just when you’re lounging by the pool with a good book! UV rays never take a break from wreaking their havoc and neither should you when it comes to sunscreen. But—and there is a but— for some skin types, wearing sunscreen can lead to clogged pores that cause breakouts, blackheads, and other blemishes. While non-comedogenic (read: non pore-clogging) sunscreen formulas are a great start, the best way to avoid the possibility of clogged pores (without swearing off sunscreen) is making sure you thoroughly cleanse your skin—both at night and after spending extended periods of time outside—after wearing SPF.

During the summer months, when sunscreen is on heavy rotation, we rely on a certain cleansing brush to help us deeply clean our pores and remove any lingering sunscreen on the skin’s surface. Thanks to Clarisonic’s ability to cleanse six times better than hands alone, using one of these cult-favorite cleansing devices is a no-brainer to remove not only sunscreen, but also makeup, dirt, sweat, and other surface impurities that can lead to summer breakouts.

Our current obsession is using the Mia Fit—a travel-sized cleansing brush—with the deep pore cleansing brush. The Mia FIT has a compact design that fits perfectly in your makeup bag (or beach bag!) for on-the-go cleansing. It features two settings—delicate and power—and is perfect for removing impurities like sunscreen and makeup more effectively than if you were just to rinse with your hands. Pair the power of the Mia FIT with the Deep Pore Cleansing Brush—which has been specifically designed to dislodge oil and debris that can clog pores—and your skin is officially in the clear this summer!
