In an effort to simplify my summer skincare routine (hello skinimalism) I’ve been trying to find a moisturizer-sunscreen hybrid that works for me. Before I started my search, I made a list of two important must-haves: the product needed to have an SPF of 30 for my super fair complexion and it had to provide some serious hydration for my naturally dry skin. How hard could that be? Well, after testing dozens of just okay products, I was about to give up on finding one. But I decided to give one more a try when the CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion arrived at my door courtesy of the brand.I don’t know why it took me so long to try this cult-favorite drugstore moisturizer — it’s been available since 2009. According to the packaging, the hydrating formula with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide moisturizes throughout the day and helps restore the protective skin barrier. Plus, it has broad-spectrum SPF 30 protection when used as directed. On paper, it checked off all of my requirements, so my expectations were pretty high. The creamy texture resembles more of a sunscreen than a moisturizer, but upon first application it melted right into my skin without any white cast and left me looking glowy instead of shiny like most sunscreens do. Throughout the day, my skin felt supple and hydrated, even with a full face of makeup on top. I first tried the AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion three weeks ago and since then, my morning skincare routine is not complete until I apply this lotion. I’m glad I gave my search one last try — the best was saved for last!Design: Hannah PackerRead More:The CeraVe Products to Add to Your Nighttime RoutineAn Editor With Dehydrated, Oily Skin Reviewed the CeraVe PM Moisturizing Lotion6 Cooling Skincare Products to Help You Chill Out This Summer
