We Review Maybelline's SuperStay Better Skin Range

At Skincare.com, the only thing we love more than makeup that hides imperfections from the public eye is makeup that can make our skin look better at the same time. So it comes as no surprise that Maybelline’s Better Skin collection—which, as its name suggests, can help improve the look of skin—has earned our approval. We recently took the range’s powder, foundation, and concealer for a test drive and are sharing our thoughts with you ahead. Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Powder Review

Recommended for: All skin types looking to achieve oil-control and long-lasting coverage. 

Meet the brand’s first powder formulated with salicylic acid that wears all day. The formula improves skin’s look by reducing the appearance of imperfections, pores and unevenness. Choose from eight super-saturated shades.

Why We Love It: After spotting this skin-transforming powder backstage at New York’s trendiest fashion shows, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. The oil-free formula contains salicylic acid, one of my favorite acne-fighting ingredients. At first I thought only acne-prone skin types could enjoy the powder, but was delighted to discover that the formula is suitable for all skin types. Whether your skin is oily, normal, or sensitive, this powder can help eliminate unwanted shine for better-looking skin in no time flat. Unlike some other powders I’ve tried, this blend glided on easily and absorbed quickly without caking. My skin didn’t feel heavy after applying it, but rather lightweight and comfortable. Best of all, my notoriously greasy T-Zone was left looking matte throughout the day. Needless to say I’m incredibly pleased!

How to Use It: Using the included sponge applicator, apply the powder to your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin. Blend using gentle downward strokes.

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation Review

Recommended for: All skin types looking to improve the look of visible skin imperfections.

Its formula, enriched with ACTYL C—an ingredient known for its antioxidant benefits—this foundation improves skin’s look. See a reduction in the appearance of spots, bumps, dullness, and redness. Choose from 15 true-to-skin shades.

Why We Love It: On bad skin days, few things work as instantly as foundation to help camouflage unsightly blemishes, spots, and imperfections. Most of the time those benefits are only temporary as our foundation does little to correct the root of our problem areas. The same cannot be said for this formula, however. In addition to camouflaging blemishes in a pinch, it works to help improve the look of your skin over time. Uh, yes please! What’s more, the formula contains broad-spectrum SPF 15 to help protect skin against harmful UV rays that can contribute to additional damage. I’ve worn the oil-free formula daily for a few weeks and I’m hooked! It covers what needs to be covered without accentuating problem areas even further. Two (very) big thumbs up.

How to Use It: Using a foundation brush or blending sponge, apply the foundation onto your skin and blend gently. For fuller coverage, go over problem areas with an additional application as desired.

Recommended for: All skin types looking to visibly reduce the appearance of dark circles, spots, and imperfections.

Why We Love It: Dark circles are an unfortunate reality for me. As such, my arsenal is never without concealer. I definitely have my fair share of coveted products, and there’s no doubt that this concealer by Maybelline will join the ranks. In addition to loving its skin-transforming benefits, I’m really pleased with how plush and easy to use the applicator is. It offers a targeted approach and distributes just the right amount of product to help camouflage the dark circles around my delicate eye contour.

How to Use It: Using the applicator, apply the desired amount of concealer directly onto imperfections, spots, or under-eye area. Blend with fingers.
