Quick Question, What Are Skin-Care Capsules and How Do You Use Them?

On-the-go products are a lifesaver when you’re in need of some skin TLC but have very little space to pack. While travel-sized minis and skin-care sticks are often our go-tos, skin-care capsules might just take the cake as our new quick favorite regimen. These tiny capsule-like pods contain cleansing oils or serums that are designed to remove makeup, clean and hydrate or otherwise boost the skin in some way. We chatted with Jawn Marques, Global Educator at Eve Lom to learn more.

What Are Cleansing Capsules and How Do They Work?

According to Marques, most skin-care capsules are formulated with a blend of oils to tone, cleanse and moisturize the skin. “Cleansing capsules are formulated with ingredients such as eucalyptus, clove and Egyptian chamomile to help keep pores clean,” he says. “They can also offer omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids to keep the skin hydrated and plump, like the Eve Lom Cleansing Oil Capsules.” 

To use capsules, simply twist to remove the top of the pod and squeeze out the contents. In the case of the Even Lom cleansing capsules, apply onto the skin in circular motions and wash off with water. “The oils are designed to balance oily skin while also hydrating dry skin,” says Marques, so any skin type can use them.
