Looking for a New Facial Mask? These Four Deserve Your Attention
June 25, 2018Few things are more satisfying on a hot day than a cool, refreshing facial mask. Whether you’re looking to help unclog your pores or boost your skin’s hydration levels, using a facial mask is one of the easiest, and most relaxing ways to give your skin the pampering it deserves.
When you decide to use a facial mask, however, the difficulty lies in the selection. Beauty depots and drugstores are stocked with an array of facial masks to choose from—clay masks, sheet masks, gel masks…you get the idea—which makes choosing the best one for your skin type and concerns tricky. Need help slimming down your pickings? Opt for one (or all) of these four SkinCeuticals facial masks, each targeting a different skin concern. Our friends at SkinCeuticals sent the Skincare.com team complimentary samples of all four masks, and we put them to the test. Keep reading four our reviews of SkinCeuticals facial masks.
SKINCEUTICALS CLARIFYING CLAY MASQUE REVIEW
We know that there are tons of clay masks out there, but this one from SkinCeuticals is worth trying. This deep pore-cleansing, skin-refining mask stands out from the rest for its rich blend of natural earth clays and hydroxy acids. The mask can help decongest pores, lift impurities and oils, and exfoliate skin.
While many clay masks boast a chunky texture that can be hard to smooth over the skin, that’s not the case with this formula. The mask texture felt soft and smooth and was easy to apply over my facial contours. I let it dry for 15 minutes at which point it had hardened onto my skin. After rinsing off with warm water, I noticed my skin looked and felt better. After using this mask for a week, my skin was left feeling purified.
Recommended for: All skin types
To Use: After cleansing, apply a thin layer to the face, neck, and chest while avoiding the eye and lip areas. Let dry for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Use once or twice weekly for congested skin.

SKINCEUTICALS HYDRATING B5 MASQUE REVIEW
This face mask is great for giving your skin some intense hydration. It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid, which helps replenish critical moisture levels that have been depleted in dehydrated and stressed skin. This mask also contains vitamin B5 to help the skin in restoring a healthy appearance.
This mask has a gel-like texture at first, but transforms into a water-like texture with skin contact. Almost immediately, I could feel a cooling sensation on my skin as this mask started to deeply hydrate my skin. Due to the lightweight feel of this mask, after about a minute, I nearly forgot I had it on! After I rinsed the mask off, my skin felt hydrated and looked more radiant.
Recommended for: All skin types.
To Use: Use at night, once or twice weekly. After cleansing and toning, apply a generous, even layer to the entire face and neck for approximately 10 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.

SKINCEUTICALS PHYTO CORRECTIVE MASQUE REVIEW
This intensive calming botanical masque works to intensively soothe the skin. This gel mask—with highly-concentrated botanical extracts, calming dipeptide, and hyaluronic acid—is multi-functional, multi-purpose, and delivers immediate hydration as it cools your skin on contact for instant comfort, while working to restore natural radiance.
Thanks to this mask’s gel texture, it leaves a mild cooling effect on the skin after being applied. It also boasts a delightful botanical scent that is both calming and soothing. Once I rinsed it off, my skin felt immediately more hydrated, and felt as if I just applied a lightweight moisturizer. Overall, the experience with this mask was very pleasant, and my skin felt cool and comforted.
Recommended for: All skin types
To Use: Apply a generous coat to clean face, chest, or neck avoiding eye and lip areas. Allow mask to remain on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Use 2-3 times a week or as needed. Apply post-procedure as indicated by a physician.

SKINCEUTICALS BIOCELLULOSE RESTORATIVE MASQUE REVIEW
We all love a good sheet mask, especially if it has the soothing capabilities of this one. This mask is a great pick for those of you who have just gone through any professional skincare treatments such as a laser, as it works to replenish compromised skin. It creates a hydrophilic protective barrier to help facilitate the recovery process of your skin. The cellulose network of fibers within the mask act as an artificial skin barrier to alleviate skin discomfort and provide immediate relief for compromised skin.
Since I haven’t had any professional skin care treatments lately, I decided to use this mask as a bi-weekly replenishing treatment, which it can also be used as. Once applied, it feels cooling and comforting on the skin—just what I needed after a long day spent in the summer heat.
Recommended for: All skin types
To Use: Tear open pouch, remove mask and unfold. Remove mask from protective mesh layering, and apply to face, adjusting to face contour. Leave on for 7-10 minutes. Remove and discard.
